Welcome to the next episode of SEASON 2 of Behind the Business , our feature from the Concierge CPAs community. This year is especially meaningful for us as we proudly celebrate 15 years of serving our clients—and we couldn’t be more excited to spotlight the people and stories behind the businesses we work with. This series highlights the insight, dedication, and impact our clients bring to their fields, and the journeys that shaped how they got there.

The name ā€œLola Tuckerā€ has a special meaning. Can you share the story behind it?

Lola Tucker Interiors was named in honor of my mom after she passed away from ALS nearly 20 years ago. My children called her ā€œLola,ā€ and Tucker was the name of our beloved Golden Retriever. Naming my business after them felt like the perfect way to carry her love, strength, and spirit into everything we create.

I always notice how a home feels before I focus on how it looks.

What separates a well-designed home from a beautifully decorated one?

A beautifully decorated home can look lovely, but a well-designed home is intentional. Every decision should support the way you live, from the layout to the smallest details. When a home feels both personal and effortless, that’s when you know the design is working.

If you could give every homeowner one piece of design advice, what would it be?

Design your home for the life you actually live, not for trends or someone else’s idea of what it should be. The most memorable homes reflect the people who live in them, and those are the spaces that never go out of style.

What’s the first thing you notice when you walk into someone’s home?

I always notice how a home feels before I focus on how it looks. The light, the energy, and the little details tell you so much about the people who live there, and that’s what makes a home memorable.

What excites you most about the future of Lola Tucker Interiors?

I’m excited to continue growing while staying true to what has always mattered most to me: creating deeply personal homes and building lasting relationships with our clients. Every new project is an opportunity to collaborate, push our creativity, and help someone fall in love with their home all over again.

Our thanks to Becky Goodman for sharing her story, design philosophy, and the heart behind Lola Tucker Interiors.
