A Message From a Board Member...
I knew I loved the theater when I stepped out on stage at the age of seven. That’s when the acting bug hit. It continued from there with, school plays, community theater and a Master’s Degree in Theater.
After moving to Florida five years ago from Philadelphia, I knew I wanted to continue my craft of acting. I wasn’t sure where to start, so I googled community theaters in the area.
Being cast in “Steel Magnolias” in the spring of 2023 led me to the Pineapple Playhouse. It was a dream role for me since I played Shelby 30 years ago and now was cast in the role of M’Lynn: Shelby’s mother. I met so many wonderful people during this experience. I knew then that I wanted to continue my involvement with the Pineapple. I had the privilege to be asked to co-assist with Josef Long as Artistic Director, which keeps me involved in all aspects of the theater. So much, that I have now been welcomed as a board member.
We have a wonderful 2024/2025 season ahead of us, starting off with “Drinking Habits” a comedy for those in need of a good laugh, you can rest assured that's what you’ll get! Our other shows include, “Doubt: A Parable”, “Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike”, “Squabbles: aka Your House or Mine”, our musical for the season, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” and ending the line up, “A Fox on the Fairway”. We also have several specials for this season which includes, “Matt Gician: “World of Magic”, “Faith Healer”, One Act Showcase: which includes “Broken Angels” and Ken Ludwig’s “Twas the Night Before Christmas”.
Please be sure to check out our website at: pineappleplayhouse.com , for all dates and times. We are always looking for good talent, both on stage and off. It’s a wonderful place to get involved, meet new friends and inspire the community. We look forward to seeing you at the Pineapple Theater!

Suddenly, their movie-star sister, Masha, swoops in with her new boy toy, Spike. Old resentments flare up, eventually leading to threats to sell the house. Also on the scene are sassy maid Cassandra, who can predict the future, and a lovely young aspiring actress named Nina, whose prettiness somewhat worries the imperious Masha.

Squabbles
aka Your House or Mine
by Marshall karp
Feb. 14 - March 2
This hilarious play pits a father in law against a mother in a comedic succession of squabbles. Jerry Sloan is a successful writer of advertising jingles married to an equally successful lawyer. Living with the happy couple is the not so happy Abe Dreyfus, Jerry's curmudgeon of a father in law. Abe is a funny guy to the audience, not to Jerry. The situation is exacerbated when Jerry's mother Mildred looses her house in a fire and needs a place to stay. Abe and Mildred can't stand each other. This play is one hilarious confrontation after another until the heart warming finale in which the oldsters discover that, really, each is not so bad.
