What benefits have Greg Smith - business professional, life/career coach, dad and elder at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church – and others like him found in going back through the Battle for the Heart process a second (or even third!) time?
For Greg Smith and Aimee Harris, both of OMPC, leading a second team through the Battle for the Heart process has brought dual benefits - the opportunity to impact others by walking them through a life-changing process and ongoing personal growth.

“The Great Commission calls us to multiply our lives,” Greg said. “The Battle for the Heart process is a way to impact the hearts of men for a lifetime and change generations beyond that.”
Regarding his own life, Greg said the biggest change he has experienced in going back through the Battle process is being ableto be more vulnerable because he knows deeply that he is not alone. He has also grown in his ability to engage the hearts of others with much more patience, letting things unfold, as he realizes that it isn’t up to him to fix it. This made the experience more real and more penetrating.
Many others have found that bringing a team back through the process a second time not only impacts them more deeply on a personal level, but it opens up their eyes to the larger story as they are able to experience the work of God in the lives of others in a more tangible way.

For Aimee it has helped her become comfortable in her own skin as she grows in knowing the woman God has created her to be.
At one time, Aimee said, conflict would have made her want to check out or shut down. But when recounting how God has recently called her into some messy places she said, “One of my women just recently experienced for the first time that God really sees her! Getting to be a part of breakthroughs like that gives me courage to be who God made me to be.”

When asked what she would say to those considering going back through the battle process again, Julie Knestrick of West End Community Church in Nashville, TN said, “Go. There is no way to absorb all the information the first time. Each time I look at my Pose, God shows me more. The more exposure I have to the Larger Story, the more I see God’s goodness and my place in His story.”

Community Church (WECC). Larry spoke to a crowd of 50+ church members desiring to hear more about Wellspring Group and the Battle for the Heart process. Bryan and Lana Myers, both Battle alumni who are currently participating in the Battle for Your Marriage track, shared how Battle has impacted their lives individually, their marriage and how they parent their two daughters.
There were tears, of course, as they vulnerably told of learning to share their hearts with each other and pursuing the hearts of their girls in a way they didn't understand before Battle.
Their deepening walk with the Lord and each other encouraged and touched many hearts in the room. The Lord clearly used Larry and the Myers to ignite an interest and excitement about the Battle process at WECC. From the class, several WECC teams are forming to attend the Fall 2017 and Winter 2018 retreats. It will be exciting to see how the Lord uses Battle at WECC over the next year to reach hearts for overflowing transformation and to draw folks closer to Him.

One of the ways evil hunts us is through isolation. In a crowd of thousands it is possible to feel totally alone. Unseen. Unheard. Uncared for.
Your need to connect, engage and be engaged didn’t end with the completion of Reality 4 in the follow through process. But time, distance, competing responsibilities – all these factors can make it easy to fall out of consistent, deep fellowship.
If you are already a part of Wellspring Group’s Leadership Equipping Track (LET) and find yourself with a desire to go deeper relationally and spiritually, to grow in your engaging skills, to connect with others who have been through the Battle for the Heart process, consider signing up to be part of the LET PeerConnect. We will put you in touch with other facilitators and speakers who desire to form a pair or triad to engage around real-life issues. You decide the frequency of connection (monthly, bi-weekly), the format (general connection, going back through the follow through material) and the meeting type (phone, video, in-person).
Contact Anisa for more details.

There are no special requirements related to skill set in order to join the LET. Rather, we ask that all volunteers be committed to living in true Biblical authenticity, growing spiritually and personally and living and leading from a whole heart.

What is WG's Leadership Equipping Track?
The LET is the process by which we equip Battle for the Heart alumni who would like grow and volunteer their skills as Battle event speakers, facilitators, tech gurus and worship leaders as well as other retreat volunteers. It is the way that we as Wellspring serve and equip the volunteer army that enables this ministry to have the impact it is having! LET members gain greater confidence in your engaging skills (at retreats and in daily life) and will be provided an additional layer of personal support for those of you who desire it.
|
|
Here is a glimpse of the value that being part of the LET offers:
- Quarterly facilitator equipping calls for heart connection and advanced engaging skill equipping
- Retreat-specific facilitator equipping calls to support and equip you throughout your volunteer experience
- Monthly connection calls for interested facilitators to stay connected with others within the Wellspring Community
- Additional Opportunities to take part in planning for and equipping teams who can take the Battle for the Heart retreats on the road – stateside and overseas
- Equipping facilitators in additional support roles such as tech and on-site administration
- Equipping opportunities to enter into our Speaker Equipping Track where you will get to dive deeper into the Battle material and share from your heart with others at the Battle for Your Heart Events.
- The inside scoop through a newsletter exclusively for LET members to keep you better informed of equipping opportunities and ministry needs
|
|
If you are not interested in getting involved with the LET but have a special gift set that you'd like to volunteer (proof-reading, communications, technology/social media, etc.), please contact us!
We would love to plug you in in a variety of ways!
