Finding Her Voice

A Survivor's Story of Strength, Healing and Hope

As a young girl, Hayley didn’t want much — just for someone to ask, “Are you okay?” When that question finally came, her whole world changed. She never got a trial, but today, Hayley is fueled by passion. She’s using her voice to speak out, to heal, and to stand up for others.

Her story is a powerful reminder of the impact we can collectively have on children. Learn how Project Harmony and our partners supported her in stepping forward and listen to Hayley's experience today!

In the News

Turning Tragedy Into Hope

Inspired by her brother's resiliency, Marah wants to give hope to children, sharing that what has happened to you does not define who you are. She says, “These are birthday boxes and inside each of them is birthday decorations and a cake, and other stuff to give to children so they can celebrate their birthdays during a hard time."

Project Harmony

Explain your position at Project Harmony:

I collaborate with my team to plan and execute fundraising events that advance our mission and sustain the essential work we do in the community. I also contribute to broader fundraising initiatives, including the Service League, which helps expand our reach, increase awareness and support key events.

What led you to work at Project Harmony?

I have dedicated most of my career to the non-profit sector, beginning with internships during my college years. It is deeply fulfilling to know the work I do each day contributes to supporting children and families. When I learned about the vital services Project Harmony provides to families in our community, I felt inspired to join such an impactful organization.

Tell me about someone who has influenced your decision to work at Project Harmony or a mentor who has helped you most in your career thus far.

I’ve been inspired by many people throughout my life, but since moving from Texas to Nebraska for college, I’ve especially come to admire the strong sense of community in Omaha. At Project Harmony, our Leadership Team stands out. They lead by example and foster a supportive, empowering environment that motivates me to do my best every day.

How do you enjoy spending your time when you are not working?

I enjoy spending time with family and friends when I'm not at work. My husband, Chris, and I have two kids, Harrison and Harper, who keep us very busy! We love to get outside as much as we can and explore new places around Omaha.

What is the one thing you are most proud of about your job?

The thing I’m most proud of in my job is getting to connect with the community and talk about the amazing work done at Project Harmony. I love being a part of giving tours of our building — there’s nothing more eye-opening than walking through our space and seeing the impact up close.

What is your favorite quote?
