Dear Bella Vista Families,
It’s hard to believe we are at the end of our third week and the end of August is near. It was great to see so many families at our first PTA meeting on Thursday night. I hope more and more of you are able to take part in our programs and services brought to you by PTA.
Over these first three weeks it has been so amazing to see our classrooms come to life with lessons on friendships, identity, routines, and art, in addition to our academic subjects. It is so important for our learners and teachers to have this strong foundation in order to have a successful year. This week also saw the beginning of library with Ms. Cindi and music with Ms. Bishop. It’s a great sight to walk down the hallways and see our Trailblazers actively engaged in learning with their minds and hearts. Our character trait of the month for August/September is inclusion. Inclusion is when we get to know one another, build community, understand identity, and learn from diversity. We all belong together at Bella Vista!
Our students have been doing such an outstanding job of remembering their mask protocols while at school as per our county guidelines. As a reminder, all students and staff must wear a mask in any indoor setting which includes our interior corridors, classrooms, science lab, library, office, and multi-purpose room. When outdoors for recess and PE, students and staff may choose to wear their masks or not. Please remember that masks should cover our nose and mouth. Bandanas and masks with ventilation valves are not allowed. Should your child need a new mask during the school day, each classroom has extra supplies of them.
Another proactive measure is hand washing/sanitizing. Students sanitize their hands every time they enter and exit the classrooms. Finally, please be proactive at home by conducting a self-assessment every day before school to check for any COVID possible symptoms. Should your child have any symptoms, please stay home, and notify our school office by phone at 925-659-5899 or BVAttend@srvusd.net. Here are the pathways to return to school following a COVID symptom. Thank you for your support in helping to keep your family and our community safe and healthy.
Take care and thank you very much for being a partner in your child’s education. Trailblazer strong!
Thank you!
Ryan Maloney

The Run for Education is a 38 year tradition in the San Ramon Valley, and you don’t want to miss it! The run will be virtual this year, but we hope to bring back some of our traditional in-person activities on October 9 and 10, 2021, based on county guidelines.
The low registration price of $25 includes an SRVEF mask or cape! You can still order a shirt to keep your collection up to date, but orders need to be placed soon to guarantee delivery by September 1st!
This event will be a fundraiser for the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation and each school with 30% of registration net proceeds going directly to your school team chosen. Additionally, the Run for Education is setting up pledge pages for every participant that will allow schools to raise even more money with 70% of those donations going directly to the school.
We are excited about offering this fundraising opportunity to our schools! This is a healthy and fun family activity we can all enjoy while observing local guidelines AND raising funds to support our programs and people! Questions? Contact Karen Robman at karen@srvef.org.

Hello Bella Vista families!
Thank you for joining us yesterday evening for our virtual PTA Association Meeting. We hope that you enjoyed meeting our new school counselor Jing Zhang (Mrs. Z) and learned more about the programs that she offers to our students and children here at Bella Vista.
Please order your Spirit Wear via our store on our Future Fund website Bella Vista Future Fund Store. We typically wear Spirit Wear to show school pride and spirit on Fridays! We have extended our deadline to place your order(s) for one more week to Tuesday, September 7th! Please remember that this is the last day to order your Spirit Wear for this school year. We anticipate that we will distribute all Spirit Wear by the end of September.
Our Bella Vista PTA still has a few Committee Chair positions available: PTA Board/Committee Chair. This benefits our school programs and our children. We have immediate openings for our Run Club Chairperson and an Art Docent Chairperson. These two programs have been very important programs here at our school. If you are interested in chairing any of our programs, please do not hesitate to contact me via e-mail at Christie Lopez BV PTA President.
Our PTA has a few upcoming events. Please refer to the important dates on our newsletter and on our PTA Events Home Page: Events - San Ramon.
We thank you for your time and support of our Bella Vista PTA!
Enjoy the weekend!!!

A Note To Our Families...
Hello Trailblazers,
I would like to share a wonderful surprise the Ed Fund Board members got a few days back!
Last week when the Ed Fund Secretary, Mary Sing, went to collect mail from Ed Fund’s inbox, she was happily surprised! Mrs. Hitomi’s classroom had sent us letters of gratitude for the “Sanitizer Distribution”. The Ed Fund team had worked multiple days before the first day of school, to organize the sanitizer bottles, label them, and package them. All for the safety and health of the students across all classrooms. But we were not prepared for this pleasant surprise from the children! It was overwhelming to read their letters and see the wonderful artwork that accompanied. The BVEF team was so excited and thankful to Mrs. Hitomi and her class for this kind gesture. Thank You!!
As in my previous newsletter I would like to remind you that our Online Bella Vista Registration is still open and families are encouraged to support BVEF.
BVEF meetings are held quarterly. All families are invited and encouraged to attend. Please see the information below or the BVES website, under Ed Fund. Enjoy the weekend! The Ed Fund Team enjoys working and connecting with our school community!
Thank you families,
Sonali Atry, BVEF President
