With extremely cold temperatures this weekend, we have made changes to the Beloit Winterfest schedule:
Edwards Ice Arena will be closed Friday and Saturday; the ice arena is only partially enclosed and we are closing for the safety of guests and staff.
Winter Dazzle Days, run by Nature at the Confluence, will still take place Saturday morning indoors.
Alpine Hills Snow Park, run by the Rockford Parks District, is closing Friday and will reopen at noon Saturday.
The sleigh rides and bonfire event on Sunday is cancelled to ensure safety for the horses and guests. It is uncertain if we will reschedule that event and we will keep the community updated if we are able to reschedule.
Emergency Overnight Warming Sites are activated in Rock County for for five nights, starting the evening of Thursday 1/22/26 through the morning of Tuesday 1/27/26 based upon predicted temperature and/or wind chill below zero.
Two sites operate in the City of Beloit; shelter rules are in place during the emergency activation.
City of Beloit Firefighters Help Rescue Dog from Quarry

Packaging Collection Event Keeps Materials from Landfill
