Beloit City Council Meeting

Check out a few items from the City Council agenda:


  • Proclamations recognizing Beloit Memorial High School students who competed at Essentially Ellington and SkillsUSA.
  • Public hearings on a planned unit development and zoning map amendment for a future Creek Woods housing development.
  • Contract for Big Hill Center roof replacement.


Bike Lanes Being Installed on Park Avenue


Work to install painted bike lanes on Park Avenue between Bayliss Avenue and the Stateline begins Thursday, May 14. As part of the project, concrete improvements will take place in the corridor. Weather permitting, the project will conclude in mid-June.


Isolated lane and road closures will take place while the concrete is replaced. Please exercise caution while driving in the area. Impacted areas include Clary Street and Bushnell Street.


Shape Beloit's Next Season of Recreation


The City of Beloit is asking residents to complete a short survey by May 29 to help shape parks and recreation programs from programs and leagues to family events. Take the survey and make your voice count.

Public Works Week Kickoff — May 16 at the Farmers’ Market


Celebrate Public Works Week with the Beloit Public Works Department at the Farmers’ Market

on May 16 from 8am to 1pm.


Explore vehicles and equipment, collect passport stamps for a goody bag, enter a youth mini

road-sign drawing, and grab a free black hills spruce (while supplies last). Join us to learn about parks, operations, water, engineering, and summer programs.

Honoring Beloit's Officers During Police Week


This Police Week (May 10–16), we salute the dedication and sacrifice of City of Beloit officers. Read how department leaders honored City of Beloit officers at regional and statewide memorials. Thank you to those in attendance and RCSO for always remembering the lives of Beloit officers: Merchant Police Officer Fredrick Samp, Patrol Officer Peter Larsen, and Police Officer Daniel Daly.

United Veterans Memorial Day Parade — Monday, May 25, 9 AM


Join the United Veterans Parade starting at 9am Memorial Day, May 25, on Blackhawk Blvd in South Beloit to State Street and East Grand Avenue in Beloit. Expect road closures on Blackhawk, State and East Grand; find a viewing spot along the route and follow safety guidelines as we honor those who gave their lives.

West Side Workshop: Help Shape Madison Road’s Future


The City of Beloit invites residents and property owners to a May 26 workshop at Dita’s as the

city explores creating a tax incremental district in the Madison Road corridor. The workshop will explore possible boundaries and identify areas to target for improvements.
