City Council Requests Public Feedback for next City Manager
The Beloit City Council is inviting the community to attend several meetings to gather feedback and input on the qualities and background necessary for the next City Manager.
The City Council is working with Baker Tilly, a public sector executive search firm, to hold the following public meetings:
- September 9, 2022, 3:30 p.m., Beloit Public Library, 605 Eclipse Blvd.
- September 10, 2022, 10 a.m., Merrill Community Center, 1428 Wisconsin Ave.
- September 10, 2022, 2 p.m., Hackett Elementary School, 625 Eighth St.

WIS 81 Corridor Study Public Information Meetings Planned for September
The Stateline Area Transportation Study (SLATS) and the City of Beloit are conducting a corridor study of Wisconsin Highway 81 (WIS 81). This study extends from WIS 213 (Madison Road) to Milwaukee Road and includes portions of Liberty Avenue, Fourth Street, Portland Avenue and White Avenue.
The study will evaluate traffic operations, traffic safety, and recommend solutions to address current and anticipated corridor deficiencies. There is no construction project associated with this study or its recommendations at this time, although separately from this study, improvements are being planned for the Liberty Avenue/Madison Road intersection by WisDOT
There is a Public Information Meeting (PIM) on September 13, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to provide an overview of the corridor study, focusing on the WIS 81 corridor west of the Rock River. A separate meeting is scheduled for September 14, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 that will focus on the corridor east of the Rock River. Both meetings will be at the Beloit Public Library

Fall 2022 Terrace Tree Planting Requests
The City of Beloit Public Works Department is currently accepting requests from residents for terrace trees to be planted this fall.
The terrace tree species selection will be determined by the city forestry supervisor while taking into account the size of the terrace, presence of utilities and exotic invasive insects. Trees will be planted on a first-come, first-served basis, limited supply available. Forestry will accept requests through Friday, September 30, 2022.
