Yard Waste Collection Is Next Week
The City of Beloit’s yard waste program offers monthly curbside collection from April through October. The next pickup is Sept. 15-18 on your regularly scheduled collection day. A $2 yard waste sticker for every bag, bin or bundle is required.

Fall Terrace Tree Planting Program Returns
The City of Beloit Public Works Department is now accepting requests for terrace tree planting this fall! Supplies are limited, and trees will be planted on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests are open through October 1, 2025.

The City of Beloit is conducting a Bicycle and Pedestrian Survey to gather community input on how to enhance non-motorized transportation options. Your feedback will help shape future improvements that make biking and walking safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable for everyone.
Whether you’re a daily cyclist, weekend walker, or simply interested in better connectivity, we encourage you to share your thoughts.

What’s Next for the Beloit-Janesville Express?
Help shape the future of regional transit by taking a brief survey on the Beloit-Janesville Express (BJE). Beloit Transit System, Janesville Transit, and the Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation are working together to evaluate and improve this vital transportation link.

Citywide Crack Sealing Project Begins September 15
The City of Beloit will begin its annual crack sealing project on Monday, September 15, as part of ongoing efforts to extend the life of local roadways and prevent weather-related damage. Work is expected to take 5–7 days, weather permitting.
Roads will remain open during this time, though minor delays, noise, and dust should be expected. Traffic flaggers will be present to ensure safety, and special accommodations are planned along Sixth Street to minimize disruptions near the high school.

Celebrate the season at our Fall Festival, one of Downtown Beloit’s most anticipated events of the year! As our second-largest fundraiser, the festival supports our historic downtown district— making your evening out an investment in the heart of our community.

Protect Wisconsin Waterways Clean-Up
Volunteers have uncovered everything from aluminum cans to bicycles and even televisions during past clean-up events. On September 20, communities across the Rock River region will once again come together to protect and restore local waterways, including at Riverside Park in Beloit!

Get Outside and Give Back This Fall!
Big Hill Park spans 193 acres and needs some TLC—and you can help! Join Welty Environmental Center’s fall workdays for hands-on activities like brush clearing, invasive plant removal, and trail maintenance. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or new to conservation, all ages are welcome (kids under 14 need an adult). Mark your calendars for Thursdays and select Sundays this fall, and help keep one of Beloit’s biggest parks beautiful.
