Town, City Approve Consolidated Fire Department

The Beloit community will now be served by one fire department regardless of municipal boundaries after a five-year intergovernmental agreement to consolidate fire and emergency medical services was approved by the Town of Beloit Board on Monday and the Beloit City Council on Tuesday.

Former YMCA Site Gets Green Light for 55 Affordable Apartments

A major Beloit housing project is moving ahead after the City Council approved a development agreement on Tuesday for 55 affordable rental units to Riverside Drive. Construction is expected to begin this month after final building permits are issued. The project is planned to be completed in June 2027 with the units occupied beginning July 2027.
