6 Candidates Seeking 4 City Council Seats
Six candidates are running for four available Beloit City Council positions in the April 7, 2020, election. A ballot placement drawing will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020, at 10 a.m. in the City Clerk’s office.

Amazon Announces Plans to Create 500 Jobs
Amazon has announced its plans to create at least 500 full-time jobs in Beloit with its 1-million-square foot fulfillment center expected to launch in time for the 2020 holiday season.

Polling Locations Will be Combined for February Primary
The City Council has combined polling places for the Spring Primary Election to be held on Feb. 18, 2020, in the City of Beloit.

  • Wards 1-12: Beloit Historical Society
  • Wards 13-25: Central Christian Church

First Class Cosmetology Finalist in Wisconsin's Main Street Makeover Contest
First Class Cosmetology, 306 State Street, is one of five finalists in the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation's annual Main Street Makeover Contest, with a chance to win up to $10,000 in upgrades for their storefront. The winner will be announced in mid-January.

City Manager, Staff Receive Traeger Award
Congratulations to City Manager Lori Curtis Luther and Sarah Millard, Director of Strategic Communications who received Traeger awards from Engaging Local Government Leaders. The Traeger Awards are a list of the top 100 local government leaders across the nation.

Christmas Tree Collection
Curbside collection of Christmas trees will take place through January 17, 2020 To participate, simply place your tree curbside by 6am on your regular collection day.

Holiday wreaths and garland can be disposed of at the curb with your trash on your regular collection day.

#BeloitWinterfest Planned for Jan. 24-26
From the illuminated walk to snow volleyball, Beloit Winterfest has a variety of activities - including several free events - to help you beat cabin fever.
