The City of Belvidere would like to welcome recent hire, Matthew Wittig. Matthew was hired on by the Belvidere Fire Department for a recently new created position of Fire Inspector. This position will come with many benefits for the citizen but the first and most important will be providing an opportunity to educate our citizens and businesses on fire safety.
Sister Cities Youth Ambassador Program
On August 3rd, 2023 Mayor Clinton Morris had the pleasurer of welcoming four Youth Ambassadors that took part in the Sister Cities Exchange Program. The Sister Cities organization provides excellence in education and exchange opportunities.
Country Financial Donation
Belvidere Fire Department accepts $3,000.00 donation from Country Financials "Operation Helping Heroes". Funds will be utilized to purchase an iPad, Cell Phone, Uniforms and Training for the newly hired Fire Inspector, Matthew Wittig.
City Wide Branch Pick-Up
Due to recent storms the City of Belvidere Public Works crew will be picking up branches around the city. There is no pick-up schedule. Crews will only make one pass down each street. Please have all branches placed on the terrace (area between sidewalk and street). If you have multiple branches, place the butt ends together and lay the branches parallel to the street.
