CPR Training
Are you CPR certified? Is your CPR certification about to expire? The Belvidere Fire Department can help! Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation also known as CPR is a lifesaving tool that can help save a person’s life if their breathing or heart stops. The Belvidere Fire Department offers classes for CPR Certification/ Recertification for $40.00. They also offer a more extensive class for healthcare professionals for $60.00. Electronic Recycling For Boone County Residents


Where:
Boone County Highway Dept.

When:
Tuesday 10am- 2pm
Thursday 10am - 2pm
Second Saturday of the following months from 10am - 2pm
(February, April, June, August, October & December)

What is accepted:
Computers, Tablets, Desktops, Computer Monitors, Televisions (fees may apply), Desktop printers, Fax and scanners, DVD players, VCRs, Video game consoles, Converter boxes, Mice, Keyboards and Portable digital music players.

Fees:
Boone County Ordinance 19-12, Section 34-84
  • 1st TV/ Monitor from Boone County residents per calendar year received when open = No Fee
  • Additional TVs/Monitors from residents = $20.00 (20" or smaller) or $30.00 (Larger than 20")
  • Units dropped off without proof of Boone County residency will be charged $40.00 per item
  • Units dropped off when facility doors are closed will be charged a minimum $200.00

Belvidere Historic Preservation Fundraiser

Belvidere Historic Preservation is partnering up with Maggio's Pizzeria on Tuesday, February 7th from 4pm-9pm. Maggio's will be donating 10% of total orders back to Historic Preservation which will benefit the Landmarked Property Maintenance Program.
Snow Emergency
A Citywide Snow Emergency will be declared following an accumulation of 2 inches of snow. 

To find out if the City is under a Snow Emergency tune into your local TV station, Radio station or look on the City of Belvidere website.

Although there isn’t an Ordinance, the City encourages all residents to be considerate of pedestrians and school children by clearing sidewalks of snow and ice. 
IDA PUBLIC LIBRARY

Are you curious how Ida Public Library operates? Would you like the opportunity to help the library grow? You're in luck because Ida Public Library has an open spot for a Library Board Trustee! This is a volunteer position with meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month. You will work with the rest of the Library Board and the Library Director to determine budgets, tax levy requests, growth opportunities, policies, and other general public library tasks. You must be a resident or taxpayer of the City of Belvidere to apply. If interested, please fill out the application and submit to Library Director Mindy Long ([email protected]).
