EARLY VOTING BEGINS
JANUARY 19, 2023

On February 28, 2023 the following names will appear on the Republican Primary Election ballot for the only contested race for City Council:

Ward 2                 Daniel K. Snow - Republican
                              Ronald L. Chilson - Republican

Since this is the only contested race for the February 28th election, all Voters in Ward 2 will cast their ballot at the Boone County Administration Campus, 1212 Logan Avenue. Please contact the Boone County Clerk’s Office at 815-544-3103 with any questions.

The winner of the Primary Election will appear on the April, 2023 ballot.
AMBULANCE SERVICE
The City of Belvidere contract with OSF Lifeline will end April 2023. The city has requested proposals for ambulance services. Discussion will begin at the Committee of the Whole Meeting of January 23, 2023.
BUDGET PROCESS BEGINS

The City of Belvidere Budget Process will also begin at the Committee of the Whole Meeting of January 23, 2023. Police and Fire Departments will present and discuss their budgets for Fiscal Year 2024. Stay Tuned!

IDA PUBLIC LIBRARY

Are you curious how Ida Public Library operates? Would you like the opportunity to help the library grow? You're in luck because Ida Public Library has an open spot for a Library Board Trustee! This is a volunteer position with monthly board meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month. You will work with the rest of the Library Board and the Library Director to determine budgets, tax levy requests, growth opportunities, policies, and other general public library tasks. You must be a resident or taxpayer of the City of Belvidere to apply. If interested, please fill out the application and submit to Library Director Mindy Long ([email protected]).
CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING STILL AVAILABLE IN BELVIDERE THROUGH JAN. 27, 2023


Do you still have that real tree sitting around? If so, please drop it off from now until January 27, 2023 at the Belvidere Street Dept., 515 West Locust Street.

Recycling Your Christmas Tree
• Remove lights, ornaments and tree stands, including wooden stands and nails.
• Do not place the tree in a plastic bag.
• Flocked trees are acceptable for recycling.

Free mulch from the trees and branches collected through the City branch collections will be available to Belvidere residents at the Street Department in the spring.
