City Council Meeting- January 3, 2023
Throughout the year Council members pass a number of ordinances as part of conducting City business. On January 3, Ordinance #606H was passed allowing a special use for indoor sales or service at 1550 Pearl Street, the former driver’s license facility. The intended use for this property will be the sale of candies, pottery, decorations and gifts, as well as offering Folklore dance, painting and crafting classes. You will probably see renovations throughout the winter on the building.
The City is excited to see the building occupied and looking forward to the opening!

City of Belvidere Budget
About this time each year the City begins the process of creating a budget for the next fiscal year. That process consists of internal meetings to discuss projects and needs for the coming year as well as anticipated revenue. The departments then present and discuss their budget proposals with Council members. By early April a budget is finalized, approved and is in place at the start of the fiscal year, which is May 1. Budget discussions are open to the public and can be viewed on YouTube as part of City Council regularly scheduled meetings.
