Fire Department Retirement

Please join the City of Belvidere in wishing Captain Chad Cunningham a very happy and rewarding retirement. Captain Cunningham dedicated 21 years to the City of Belvidere Fire Department.

A retirement celebration will take place Friday, June 2nd from Noon- 2pm at the Belvidere Fire Department Station 1 located at 123 S. State Street. Cake and Coffee will be served.

BELVIDERE HERITAGE DAYS

Belvidere Heritage Days in underway! This years Heritage Days will be on June 23-24 with a rain date of June 25. As events are finalized, we will begin to post information here, on our Heritage Days Facebook page and on the City's website.

VFW Memorial Day Ceremony

On Monday, May 29th the VFW hosted its annual Memorial Day Program. The above picture includes a Korea Veteran, Word War II Veteran and Vietnam Veteran. Thank you to those who have defended liberty and justice for future generations!

2023 Street Overlays

The annual Street Overlay program repairs and resurfaces arterial and residential streets through hot mix asphalt (HMA) overlays and chip sealing. Listed below are the streets that will be resurfaced this year:

SO Athletes Banquet

On Monday, May 22nd the Belvidere Park District Special Recreation hosted its Annual SO Athlete Banquet. Several agencies helped create an exceptional experience for the athletes. The Belvidere Police Department, Boone County Sheriffs Department, Belvidere Fire Department and Boone County Fire escorted athletes (while riding on a flatbed truck provided by Gallano Trucking) from Pacemaker to the Athlete Banquet held at the Community Building.

The Belvidere Park District thanks everyone who helped create the incredible parade experience.
