Bemelmans...Madeline & More I don't specialize in children's books, but I love them. Many times, and I'm sure it's like this for you, you stumble across a book you read as a kid or read to your kids and are hit head-on by the nostalgia train. It happened to me the other day while making a house visit...I broke down and bought a bunch of Madeline titles in first editions. With three daughters, Madeline was a popular character in our house. We also had a Madeline doll the size of a three year old child that lurked around the house. Most everyone knows Madeline, but what I didn't know was that Ludwig Bemelmans had published a quite few other titles. fifi was familiar, but not Sunshine with this great title page: Bemelmans, Sunshine: A Story About New York (1950)
I have also had some other children's books, including a signed copy of The Biggest Bear land on my shelves. So, hop over to this link and take a look at what's new: Children's Books, New Arrivals I hate to make you anxious but the Holidays aren't that far off... As always, the next time you're in the area make it a point to visit Craig Olson Books at 99 Main Street in Belfast, Maine, where we have a large selection of books in all subjects, and a few hundred on architecture, art, and design...and for the kid in all of us.
