Dear Ben Franklin Families,

Thank you for all of your support during our first week of school.

We had some issues with younger students getting on the wrong buses We have worked to double and triple check before loading busses to make sure this does not continue.

One thing you can do at home is check the tags on your child/children's backpacks and make sure the bus number is accurate. Additionally, if you plan to change your pick up plans, we ask that you contact the school before 2:15pm. This gives us enough time to contact all staff who need to be aware of these changes.

A Piece of the PIE

🎉 Welcome back, everyone! PIE is so excited to kick off a new year with lots of fun activities coming up. Our first meeting of the year will be Tuesday, Sept. 9 (that's this coming Tuesday!) at 6 p.m. in the Ben Franklin library. Can't wait to see you all there!

📚 Our first fundraisers of the year are the Ben Franklin read-a-thon (Sept. 22-Oct. 3) and the Riverside fun run and health fair (Oct. 9). See the attached flyers for more information on the read-a-thon, and follow our Facebook page for upcoming info and volunteer opportunities for both events!

💡 Speaking of reading, the Riverside book fair runs this coming week, Sept. 8-12. If you're interested in helping out, make sure to sign up here!

🐔 Our first restaurant night is Monday, Sept. 15 from 4-8 p.m. at Chick-fil-A on County Line Road. Make sure to order on the mobile app, and 20% of the sale will be donated to PIE.

There are many opportunities to help out at school. Whether helping in the classroom, at PTO events or chaperoning a field trip, we'd love your help.

To ensure that all adults who come in contact with your children are safe to do so, we run background checks on all volunteers. You can apply today to be a volunteer at the link below. Please note that it does take 48-96 hours for the process, so if you want to volunteer, apply early.
