Ben's Buzz
Dear BFCCPS Community,
If you did not have a chance to read the Special Edition of Ben's Buzz regarding  Parent Conference Signups, please be sure to  click here for details . Student report cards will be posted to the SchoolBrains Portal on November 16th in advance of conferences, paper report cards will not be sent home this year.  We encourage you to review your child's report card in advance of your conferences.
Please note that babysitting will be available during conferences scheduled on Monday November 20th and Tuesday, November 21st for children ages 5 and up. This service is available for $10 per family to benefit the Quebec Trip and is supervised by Mrs. Mogauro.

MCAS Results:

Next week the parent/guardian reports for MCAS will be mailed home to each family. You should receive them by Wednesday, November 8th. The reports contain the results from the next-generation MCAS tests that were given in Spring of 2017 for ELA and Math, as well as 5th and 8th grade Science, Technology and Engineering assessments.
Please click on this link for the  Parents Guide to MCAS. This will give you specific information for both the next-generation (grades 3-8) MCAS. You can also find more information in the parent portal at the  Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
We are very proud of how hard our students worked on these assessments, and the scores that they achieved.  Once you receive your student's scores, if you have any questions about the assessment itself, please reach out to me directly at hzolnowski@bfccps.org.  If you have any questions about your child's performance, or any academic concerns raised by these scores, please reach out to your child's current teacher.
Scope and Sequence:
The Scope & Sequence is a monthly overview of the upcoming curriculum topics and is one of the main tools you can use as a parent to support your child's academic success.

The Scope & Sequence outlines the main topics in each subject area that your student will be covering that month and is designed to give parents an awareness of the main thrust of the curriculum and provide an opportunity for you to discuss topics and make connections at home that deepen what they are learning at school. If you have a question or comment regarding a Scope & Sequence, please contact the teacher directly.  November Scope and Sequence documents will be posted to the website on November 1st.
Thank you and have a great rest of the week!

Mrs. Heather Zolnowski

Enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year is now open!

If you have students who are eligible for Kindergarten in the 2018-2019 school year it is  now time to  place their application for enrollment

Once a student is accepted, they need not reapply as their spot is protected for as long as they attend the school.
Also, if you have students who are currently on the waiting list for grades K-8 you must reaffirm your desire for enrollment at BFCCPS with a new  application.  We also hope that you will tell your friends and neighbors who might have interest in joining us at BFCCPS!
