Beneath the Balconies 2020
is Cancelled
Baneath The Balconies Male Performer
New Iberia, La. --- The Iberia Preservation Alliance has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s New Iberia Beneath the Balconies event due to COVID-19 and concerns for the health of their performers, volunteers and community.

For 10 years the New Iberia Beneath the Balconies event has brought hundreds of people together for an afternoon on New Iberia’s historic Main Street to hear performances by the many talented and accomplished musicians and actors we are so fortunate to have in Acadiana.

"The Alliance and the Balconies committee would like to thank the public, sponsors, and volunteers, without whom this event would not be possible, for their ongoing support," said Pat Kahle, executive director of Shadows-on-the-Teche. "We are already making plans for the 2021 Beneath the Balconies when hopefully we can all once again enjoy a Sunday afternoon of great performances in downtown New Iberia."

About the Iberia Preservation Alliance:
The Iberia Preservation Alliance is a coalition of the Bayou Teche Museum, the Iberia Cultural Resources Association and The Shadows-on-the-Teche, which was formed to coordinate and support our mutual interest in the preservation of the history and culture of New Iberia. The Alliance sponsors two annual events: New Iberia Beneath the Balconies in the fall, and the Books Along the Teche Literary Festival in the spring. Check Iberia Preservation Alliance’s Facebook page for updates.
