Jinnel Choiniere named President and CEO
Jinnel Choiniere has been named the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce following a comprehensive search. “The selection committee's goal was to find the best candidate to further the Chamber's mission of advocacy for the business community, and we believe we've achieved that goal by selecting Jinnel.” stated Angie Tallant, Board Chair. “Jinnel is passionate about the work of the Chamber and has previously demonstrated her leadership abilities through her work on the Chamber's advocacy program. We are excited to have a current employee of the Chamber move into this position.”
Choiniere has been the Advocacy Program Manager for the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce since December 2018, where she managed the advocacy agenda and legislative program, working on key issues that directly impact the business community. She has led the Fairbanks Chamber's Juneau Fly-In the past two years and manages the advocacy efforts of all five advocacy committees. Her prior experience includes managing projects for non-profits in the education and association management fields. She holds a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Chicago, as well as formal training in group facilitation and project management.
Choiniere will transition to her new role as President and CEO beginning January 6, 2021. As President and CEO, she will oversee the Chamber’s operations as well as work with the board of directors and staff to advance the Chamber’s business advocacy agenda.
“I have been so impressed by the Fairbanks Chamber members I’ve worked with over the last two years,” said Choiniere. “They care deeply about this community and strive to make it a great place to live and do business. I am excited about the opportunity to continue working with them in this new capacity and to contribute in new ways to the success of our local businesses, non-profits, and Interior Alaska.”
