As we strive to bring a better virtual experience to our members and community we are adopting a new platform for our Weekly Business Presentations.

  1. You will still register on our event page as you have in the past.
  2. Receive a private ticket link for Hopin. This link will appear on your registration confirmation after purchasing, and will also be sent in a reminder email the morning of the selected program.
  3. Follow that link and click the blue "Join event" button to complete the second step of your registration.

Registration fees will be $5 for members and $10 for non-members.
For this fee you receive the private link, the ability to network and interact with your fellow attendees, and a recording of the days presentation emailed to you by the following Friday.

*If it is your first time attending a Hopin event, you will be prompted to create a very simple account.

Jinnel Choiniere named President and CEO

Jinnel Choiniere has been named the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce following a comprehensive search. “The selection committee's goal was to find the best candidate to further the Chamber's mission of advocacy for the business community, and we believe we've achieved that goal by selecting Jinnel.” stated Angie Tallant, Board Chair. “Jinnel is passionate about the work of the Chamber and has previously demonstrated her leadership abilities through her work on the Chamber's advocacy program. We are excited to have a current employee of the Chamber move into this position.”

Choiniere has been the Advocacy Program Manager for the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce since December 2018, where she managed the advocacy agenda and legislative program, working on key issues that directly impact the business community. She has led the Fairbanks Chamber's Juneau Fly-In the past two years and manages the advocacy efforts of all five advocacy committees. Her prior experience includes managing projects for non-profits in the education and association management fields. She holds a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Chicago, as well as formal training in group facilitation and project management.

Choiniere will transition to her new role as President and CEO beginning January 6, 2021. As President and CEO, she will oversee the Chamber’s operations as well as work with the board of directors and staff to advance the Chamber’s business advocacy agenda.

“I have been so impressed by the Fairbanks Chamber members I’ve worked with over the last two years,” said Choiniere. “They care deeply about this community and strive to make it a great place to live and do business. I am excited about the opportunity to continue working with them in this new capacity and to contribute in new ways to the success of our local businesses, non-profits, and Interior Alaska.”
Leadership Fairbanks December Recap
The December session of Leadership Fairbanks focused on communication and the students heard from guest speaker Keli Hite McGee from the Surgery Center of Fairbanks on our Zoom call. Keli has been a favorite of students for years for her insightful and relatable perspectives on building trust in the workplace and positive communication practices, and this session was no different. In the weeks leading up to our session students watched a talk by Brene Brown on the anatomy of trust and we took some time during our live Zoom session to discuss takeaways from her message. The group continues to connect over Facebook in between sessions through videos and prompts designed to spur conversation and develop deeper ties with one another.
