November 2020
Dear Bengal Supporters,
We have reached November and Week 12 of the fall semester.

Our Idaho State staff and faculty have worked diligently to keep your students as protected from the spread of the virus as possible within our campus community. The fact that we have been able to remain open has been in no small part due to the cooperation of our students. I’m sure you have seen the national news and know why I am so proud of how our university and our students have been handling this very challenging time!

I wanted to let you know that our Student Affairs staff are continuing to support your students’ health and wellbeing, as well as their pursuit of their academic goals. We are ramping up our communications to your students about the services we offer, including mental health counseling, emergency interventions, advising and registration support, emotional and social connection, and more. If your student has any kind of need, and you’re not sure where to find assistance, please contact my office at (208) 282-2794 or email us at [email protected]. We can help!

In the meantime, our abbreviated semester will conclude on November 25, with final exams taking place November 30 - December 4. Most final exams will be taking place online this year in order to prevent students from having to travel back to campus after the fall break. If your student is worried about successfully completing exams online, reach out to us. But also think about ways you can support your student’s success during these online finals. Help your student by creating a suitable space in which to take those exams--someplace protected from interruptions and distractions. Put your student’s exam schedule on your own calendar, and do whatever you can to ensure that time is protected for your student.

And providing fun munchies for someone taking final exams is never a bad idea!

Your students have worked hard to succeed this semester. We will do everything we can at Idaho State to facilitate their success right through the end of the term. Through our partnership, our Bengals have a great support team!

Roars Truly,

Lyn Redington, Ph.D.

Vice President for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management
