Meet Monty Rand:
Benilde Hall's New Chaplain
My name is Edward Rand. Feel free to call me Monty. My friends do. I am originally from Kansas City, but I moved back here about 4 years ago. I’m married. I’ve been married for about 3 years. I have 4 children. All are grown up and doing very well for themselves. I’m very proud of them.
I served in the US Army for 8 years. I served in the first Gulf War. I was hurt when I went to Somalia and now, I am a disabled vet. I suffer from severe PTSD. But I am truly blessed to be here.
I started my walk with God at an early age. I think I was about 12 when I gave my life to the Lord. Doesn’t mean I was doing what I was supposed to do, I’m still a work in progress. I have a bachelor’s in computer science, an associate's in information management, and a bachelor's in Christian ministry. I am certified in Peer Support as well as WRAP- Wellness Recovery Action Planning.
I look forward to working with everyone.
