Bennett Days 2019 Sponsor Banners

Every year we set up banners near State Highway 79 to advertise our Bennett Days Sponsors. If you would like your business included, be sure to turn in your sponsor information by August 8!

We're excited to offer another Bennett Days Celebration to our community! In order to keep it FREE we need your HELP! Sponsorship provides all businesses, non-profits, and stakeholders in the I-70 corridor a chance to be involved and promote their organization and give a charitable contribution to their community. We hope that you will consider being a part of this great event and look forward to highlighting your business or organization through sponsorship.

State of the Town 2019

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2019 State of the Town. Every summer the Mayor of Bennett presents on the Town's projects, both past and present, to keep community stakeholders informed.

This year, the Town looked back on all the economic, residential and industrial growth that has taken place in Bennett recently. One of the most significant accomplishments was that the new Water Resource Recovery Facility came online. The Town of Bennett was able to replace the aerated lagoon wastewater plant with this state-of-the-art modern mechanical treatment facility. This allows the Town to meet current requirements and anticipated future requirements for a treated effluent discharge permit.

Another significant accomplishment the Town embarked on this past year was the development of the Capital Asset Inventory Master Plan (C.A.I.M.P). The Town initiated a utility master plan update in 2019 with a proposal to DOLA mineral impact fund. DOLA then encouraged the Town to become a pilot community for their fiscal sustainability program and expand the scope of the project to include all town assets. The Town envisions a dynamic Master Plan that is all encompassing with a framework in GIS. Some of the goals of the GIS platform are to capture the current asset inventory and assessment with improvement and replacement planning, to show growth projections with infrastructure planning as well as be deliverable in a format that is expandable, flexible and usable.

Arts and Culture Community Survey

In 2018, the Town of Bennett founded the Bennett Arts Council in order to provide an avenue for arts and cultural development in both Bennett and the surrounding unincorporated areas. The Council consists of Town staff as well as numerous community partners including local artists and artisans, special districts, and non-profits. The established mission statement for the Bennett Arts Council is to promote, connect, and empower arts and culture for all ages throughout the Town and I-70 Corridor. The Council values sustainability, collaboration, innovation, and the transformative power of the arts.

In order to fulfill the above mission statement, the Bennett Arts Council was tasked with creating an arts and cultural master plan for Bennett. This master plan will establish long-term goals for the development of arts and culture in the area.

Hoping to create a document that is fully representative of the community's needs and desires for arts and culture, the Bennett Arts Council is asking for your input and feedback.

Please consider taking this five minute survey to add your voice and provide the Bennett Arts Council with the information necessary to best serve your needs.

If you have any questions about the survey please contact Taeler Houlberg at .
