Three Trustees were sworn into office to serve on the Bennett Board of Trustees on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.

Kevin Barden, Steve Dambroski and Darvin Harrell were sworn into office during the Town Board Meeting on Tuesday night. Harrell and Barden were re-elected to the board. Dambroski is serving his first term. The trustees will serve a four-year term ending in 2026.

Harrell, Barden and Dambroski join fellow board members: Mayor Royce Pindell, Whitney Oakley, Denice Smith and Donna Sus.

During the regular meeting, Town staff and Board of Trustees also thanked Larry Vittum for serving on the Board of Trustees. Two commissioners for the Planning and Zoning Commission took the oath of office as well. Rachel Connor and Martin Metsker accepted reappointments to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The Board of Trustees also recognized former members of the Board of Adjustment. Board meetings take place on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Meetings consist of a study session at 5:45 p.m. and the regular meeting at 7:00 p.m.

Participants wanted for Bennett Community Garden
The Town of Bennett is looking for community volunteers to plant and care for the Bennett Community Garden in Civic Center Park.

There are currently 12 garden beds and the Town is looking for volunteers to care for those beds and help the garden flourish. Volunteers would be assigned a garden plot and would be responsible for plot prep, planting seeds/seedlings, weeding, maintenance and watering their spot.

There are no fees associated with maintaining the garden beds but the Town does recommend a donation to those who participate. This donation goes toward costs associated with water, maintenance and materials for the garden.

Individuals who are interested in being a community gardener should contact Public Works Office Coordinator, Sarah Shepherd, at (303)644-3249 ext. 1039 or sshepherd@bennett.co.us.
