19 Property Tax Statements are available
Residents and property owners will see renewals, new levies, and bond retirements on their 2019 statements. Listed below are the new tax rates:
New Levy and Renewals:
- City of Corvallis Local Option Renewal: Increase in rate from $0.8181 per $1,000 of Assessed Value to $1.07 per $1,000 of Assessed Value.
- Ridgewood Road District implemented a new Local Option Levy with a rate of $3.00 per $1,000 of Assessed Value.
Bonds:
- City of Corvallis retired bonds removing a levy of $0.2367 per $1,000 of Assessed Value.
Payments are due by Nov. 15, 2019. Those who pay in full by Nov. 15 will receive a 3% discount. Taxpayers have the option of paying one third of the total amount due on Nov. 15, followed by one-third payments on Feb. 15, 2020 and on May 15, 2020.
Taxpayers may pay at multiple in-person locations, via postal mail, or online.
The Benton County Tax Collection and Assessment offices are co-located on the second floor of the county’s Sunset building, 4077 SW Research Way, in Corvallis.
A drive-up drop box is available at the Sunset Building and a walk up drop box is located on the outside of the Benton County Commissioner’s office located at 205 NW 5th Street in Corvallis.
Property taxes may also be paid at all Oregon State Credit Union branches in Benton County. No commercial banks will be accepting payments this year.
In addition to in-person locations, taxpayers may also utilize postal mail to send payments to Benton County Tax Office, P.O. Box 964 Corvallis, OR 97339. Payments must be postmarked by Nov. 15, 2019 to be considered timely.
