From the desk of our
S.T.E.A.M. Lab
This week in STEAM we began our Purim unit. Our students practiced their early math skills through sorting and pattern games and art. They were each given an opportunity to create a castle by following a castle pattern and gluing different shapes to match their castle of choice. Our group engineering project was working together to build a large Shushan castle out of reusable materials. Thank you to those who brought items in for us to use! The castles can be found in front of the STEAM lab in the EC building. Next week we will continue our Purim unit by taking a closer look at Queen Esther's and King Ahashverosh's treasures.

Navi Newspaper Project
Students in the 6th grade were happy to share their Navi projects. Each student chose a topic based on one of 18 chapters they have studied. They chose a name for their newspaper article as well as a catchy headline, accompanied with 14 facts about their story. Included were two ads related to their subject matter. The girls enjoyed decorating their newspapers in creative formats.

Marshmallow Clouds
In this week's Parsha Pekudei EC3 learned about the Mishkan and how when the Mishkan was set up and ready, Hashem’s clouds were above the Mishkan. The students did a project filling a glass with different fruit to symbolize what was in the Mishkan, and then covered it with Marshmallow fluff to symbolize the clouds over the Mishkan.
