Amazing Austin
The 5th grade had an amazing time touring in Austin and celebrating their last year in lower school. The students visited Barrington Farms where they visited the home of Anson Jones, the last president of the Republic of Texas. They also went to the LBJ Presidential Library, the Bat colony on Congress Avenue Bridge, and the Capitol where they saw the House of Representatives and the Senate in session. The trip was not complete without a stop at Buc-ee's!

Help our Cadena Team Win!
Remember the fun game created by our middle school students Leeor Catran, Aaron Ruban, and Alex Schwartz called "Perfectly Prepared: Pat and Penny's Disaster Adventure" which they debuted at our STEM Fair in April? Their game is a board game designed to help teach children how to prepare and act in situations following natural disasters. Voting is now open on Cadena's Facebook page, and the public vote counts for 20% of the judging! Leeor, Aaron and Alex will be traveling to Mexico next week to present their project along with 20 other schools. Please help them out by voting for their video

All about Israel!
Morah Gila's 3rd grade class worked on a project about cities in Israel this week. Each student chose a different city and researched the history, population, origin of the city name, synagogues, sports, and tourist attractions. They made posters with all the information, which will be displayed at the upcoming Torah Fair on May 21.
