Parsha Minute

"May my teaching drop like the rain "? What can that possibly mean, and should we wear a raincoat this Shabbat? Find out in this week's parsha minute!

Shabbat shalom!
We are very excited to be celebrating our 50th year of serving the Houston Jewish community, providing an excellent dual curriculum college preparatory education.

We hope you enjoy the trip down memory lane weekly with us! Please feel free to email us some of your own pictures and captions--we would love to feature them!

This week in STEAM EC15 drew inspiration from Sukkot and became engineers. They learned how to build with interlocking circles and tubes. They also used their fine motor skills to make sukkot out of playdough, sticks, pasta, and pipe cleaners.
Besamim Limes

Ms. Rantz's 3rd grade Judaics class created besamim (spices) limes for Yom Kippur. Not only do they smell great to help those feeling weak from fasting - it is another way to be able to say our 100 brachot (blessings) on a day where we can't make them on food if we are fasting!
Define and Shoot

Ms. O'Leary's Middle School English class practiced the definitions of words with a fun activity. Students who defined a word correctly got to shoot a basketball into a basket.
Poker Integer Math

Students in Mrs. Rosenzweig's 7th grade class practiced how to add and subtract integers while playing poker. The students were too fast for Dr. Oberman who looked very confused by the students' accuracy and speed.
Logically Equivalent Statements

The 9th and 10th grade students in Mrs. Rosenzweig's Pre-AP Geometry class practiced conditional statements by writing logically equivalent statements.
Intro to Computers

Students in Mr. Riklin's 2nd grade Technology class began learning how to type via online games that awarded them points. The game gave points for accuracy and speed.
