A Message From The Mayor's Office
|
|
Thanks to all the residents who came out to play “Basketball with the Mayor” on Wednesday, July 26th at Henry Park. Our “Meet the Mayor” series is a fun and easy way to connect with Mayor Zack about issues and ideas that are important to you in an informal way. Keep an eye out for future "Meet the Mayor" dates and locations!

Berlin is a proud member of the Lower Eastern Shore Mayors’ Association (LESMA) which represents twenty-two municipalities from Somerset, Dorchester, Wicomico and Worcester counties and works together to educate and advocate for all our towns together. Berlin had the annual opportunity to host the LESMA membership on Thursday, July 20th at 410 Social and our hospitality and charm came shining through. The wonderful dining experience was enhanced by our guest speaker, Patti Stevens of the Worcester Bike and Pedestrian Coalition, who talked about active transportation, specifically bikes and trails, and the potential for interconnectivity among the counties. A new tourist attraction in town, Tracks and Yaks, donated a ticket to ride their new railbike experience in Berlin, which was a perfect complement to the evening’s topic of discussion. Thanks to all the Berlin Councilmembers and Staff who attended and helped host this wonderful opportunity to showcase Berlin!

Over the past several meetings, the Mayor and Council have held several work sessions regarding Heron Park. Many of our residents and business owners have attended the work sessions, reached out to share their thoughts, and continue to follow the discussion. Your interest and involvement in our local government goes a long way in helping us make the best decisions for Berlin’s future. Please continue to join our public meetings over the next couple of weeks as the Mayor and Council work toward making a decision about Heron Park’s future.
If you have any questions regarding Heron Park or anything occurring within the Town of Berlin, please fill out this form, reach out to the Mayor’s Office (410-641-3858, MayorZack@berlinmd.gov) or consider attending one of the “Meet the Mayor” events happening monthly throughout town.
