THE BERLIN BULLETIN - AUGUST 2025

A Message From The Mayor's Office

Happy August, Berliners!

Last week we had so much fun announcing the Christmas Parade Theme for 2025 and celebrating “Christmas in July” at the Berlin Farmer’s Market. Santa was there and told us he’s looking forward to being back in Berlin on Thursday, December 4th for the 54th Berlin Christmas Parade, the Eastern Shore’s Largest and most wonderful parade! This year we’ll be witnessing “A Miracle on Main Street: A Celebration of The Holidays Favorite Songs and Movies.”

Thank you to the hundreds of bidders who took part in the Town of Berlin’s first online Street Sign Auction, which helped to raise over $10,000 for the future Berlin Community Center. Using an online platform, the town was able to up-cycle 140 old town street signs all for the good cause of the Community Center. The Auction was covered extensively in local news and created a lot of excitement, near and as far as California and Colorado where some of the winners live.

The success of the auction was helped tremendously by the arrival of our Summer Intern, Arusa Islam. A 2025 American University graduate and Class of 2021Graduate of Worcester Prep School, Arusa is spending her 2nd summer in the Mayor’s Office of the Town of Berlin, bringing her excellent interpersonal skills and organizational prowess to all our projects. We are grateful to have her back and thank her for her dedication and commitment to the Town of Berlin.

-Mayor Zack
