Happy New Year!
With 2018 in our rear view mirror, we're focusing on accomplishing our goals in 2019.
The Town received a grant to complete a Resilience Element for our Comprehensive Plan this year.
As communities adjust to increasingly extreme weather events, stress on public facilities, and higher costs of services, there is growing need to not only plan for these events, but to also reduce the impacts through conscious climate adaptation and resilience planning.
We're holding a series of community meetings on March 14, 16 and 18 as part of this process. Topics we plan to cover include climate change, funding our future, and growth. We're also going to play the Game of Floods. More details will be coming soon. We hope to see you there.
We're also looking forward to completing a submerged gravel wetland on Town property situated between Graham Avenue and Old Ocean City Boulevard. This project is part of our ongoing efforts to reduce flooding throughout our Town. We're partnering with Maryland Coastal Bays on this project which is funded through a grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust.
