THE BERLIN BULLETIN - July 2024
A Message From The Mayor's Office
June came and went so quickly, it’s hard to believe how fast the summer slips by. Luckily we had some great times in Berlin, received accolades in a state-wide conference, and welcomed a record number of people to our 2024 Farmer’s Market. The Council will be reviewing the option to extend the Farmer’s Market this year until October, so if you have a strong feeling either way, please consider attending the next Mayor and Council Meeting on July 8th, or email me with your thoughts at MayorZack@berlinmd.gov.

The Town of Berlin recently received $3.8 million in bonds through the Local Government Infrastructure Financing (LGIF) Program to support infrastructure improvement efforts in the Town of Berlin, including a new Public Works Facility as well as upgrading to an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system for the Town’s electric utility.  “Berlin is a special, lovable, and growing place. Our Local Government Infrastructure Financing program is an important tool for local governments to help fund projects to enhance the lives of its residents such as those planned in Berlin,” said DHCD Secretary Jake Day. There is always something exciting happening in Berlin, and YOU can be a part of it. Please see our recent “Call for Nominations” to fill vacancies on Boards, Commissions, and Committees that help the town run everything from our Historic District to our Parks and Playgrounds. You can apply now and we’ll host interviews this summer to fill any vacancies on positions that expire by September 2024. Getting volunteer insight and input in the work of the town is so valuable and we’re always looking for ways to engage more people. Please consider serving our community,
and to the volunteers who already do, thank you!
