In April's utility bill you received a letter regarding estimated meter readings please be advised that meters will be read for the May billing and bills may be adjusted based on previous estimates.

Upcoming Mayor and Council Meetings
:
Due to the ongoing Coronavirus/Covid-19 State of Emergency, Berlin, like most communities, is trying to be as responsive as possible to ensure that our citizens are able to participate and view the meetings of the Mayor and Council in light of the restrictions on gatherings.
We continue to work to improve and enhance our processes to allow as much public participation as possible while maintaining the integrity of the Town's computer networks. Please check the Town Facebook page and website prior to each meeting to see if new information is available regarding access to the Mayor and Council meetings.
At a minimum the following will apply:
- Agendas and meeting packets will be posted on the Town's website by 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to the meeting date.
- Individuals may submit comments and questions in writing by 12:00 p.m./Noon on the meeting date to the following:
- Mail: Town of Berlin, Attn: M&C Meeting Comment, 10 William Street, Berlin, MD 21811. Please note that receipt by the deadline cannot be guaranteed went submitted via the postal service.
- Drop-boxes at Town Hall: Behind the Stair Tower in the parking area and on the building at the corner of Bay and William Street.
- Questions and comments will be compiled for the Mayor and Council to give them the opportunity to review and discuss during the meeting.
- Please go to our Facebook page at the meeting time to view the live-stream.

- Monday, May 11, 2020 at 7 pm
- Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 7 pm (rescheduled due to the Memorial Day Holiday)

APRIL MAYOR & COUNCIL
MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
|
|
- Discussed the budgets for: Elected Officials, Administration, Finance, Customer Service, Building and Grounds, Police, Public Works, Economic Development, Planning, and Parks and Recreation.
- The Berlin Fire Company made their budgetary requests to the Town.
- A first reading of Ordinance 2020-02; setting the real property Tax Rate for Fiscal Year 2021 (public hearing will be held on May 11th).
- Approved the Risk Management Policy, Procedures, and Control Provisions.
- Approved partnering with Worcester County for the Fourth of July Celebration with a new fireworks location.
- Discussed the budgets for: Electric and Water Resources.
- Discussed Healthcare renewal rates.
April 27th Regular Session Meeting:
- Approved a request from Worcester County Recreation for a summer youth instructional basketball program.
- Approved a lease agreement between Bryan Brushmiller and the Town.
- Approved a lease agreement between Christopher Galuardi, MD, and Jessco, LLC, D/B/A Pain Management and the Town.
- Approved i.g. Burton to purchase seven (7) equivalent dwelling units (EDU) from the Town.

Memorial Day:
Monday, May 25, 2020 - Most Town offices will be closed in observation of Memorial Day.
Reminder: As of May 1st, all previously announced closures including Town Parks are still in effect and Town events have been cancelled for May and June 2020.

The deadline for submission of your 2020 census has been extended, but you are strongly encouraged to submit sooner rather than later. The need for accurate census data is more and more apparent every day. Accurate counts of population are used to determine needs for so many vital services including needs associated with medical facilities and distribution of medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and more.
Make sure you and your loved ones are counted!
Census date is 100% confidential; every Census worker takes a confidentiality oath and violations can result in fines and prison. Data is never released to law enforcement, immigration officials, landlords, etc.
