February is
National CTE Month!
In honor of National CTE Month, we asked our students why they choose CTE.  We were overwhelmed with responses from students who wanted to share their CTE experiences. Below is just a small sampling of what we received.

Paige Riley
Senior at Countryside Academy
Aviation Program - Countryside Academy
Why did you take this CTE class?
I became interested in aviation my sophomore year when I took an aerospace class with the same teacher I have now for aviation. I found the physics of flying interesting and enjoyed learning about aircraft and aviation in general in the first year aviation class.

What do you enjoy the most about your CTE class?
I enjoy the hands on aspect of the class the most, including the flight simulators. The flight simulators help to visualize the flight patterns a pilot would fly and what the instruments would show. If I were to take flying lessons, I would know more and be better prepared had I never been in a plane before.

Would you recommend this CTE class to other students?
Yes, definitely! It prepares you well for an aviation career. It is interesting and many opportunities are presented in that field.

What are your future career plans/goals after high school?
My plans after high school are uncertain. However, a career in aviation is something that is one of my top choices.

Do you feel like taking a CTE class will help you attain your future goals? How?
Yes, it gives me many opportunities to ask questions, to meet people in that field already, and it provides plenty of information to enter into that career. The class gives me a head start in learning about aviation and any certification I’d need to get.

What do you enjoy the most about your CTE class?
The class itself. My classmates are the best, everyone is there for each other, our teacher is very nice and fair. It is just a very fun group of people who love to compete with and/or against each other.

Would you recommend this CTE class to other students?
Yes I would 100%!  In my opinion, I wish we could send every student to a CTE program so they could explore their options before making any crazy decisions.

What are your future career plans/goals after high school?
