Annual Membership Renewal Information

M embership  gives you the "Best Bang for your Buck"!

Memberships are still available for 2017 @ $295.00.   Complete an automatic renewal form and never worry about missing your renewal again.

If your Membership has expired (as of March 1st) and you missed your one month grace period to use up your clays, you can still use your clays by converting them to "Non-member clays". The cost is 43 cents per clay.  Once you have converted your clays you can use them up at your leisure OR renew your membership and your clays will simply transfer to your new membership clay card at no cost.

Offering you the best possible customer service is critically important to us here at Silver Willow. To that end, we are moving towards limiting memberships starting as early as this year and a "wait list" will be created once that maximum is reached. Access to Silver Willow will then be limited to members and their guests only. The exception to this rule will be those who hire a guide or instructor, corporate events who have guides and shooters registered in competitions.  Ensuring quality service, booking availability and ultimate safety are among our top reasons for this change.

Starting in April, Non Members wishing to join (not renewing members from 2016) will be required to make application for membership. Applications will be reviewed for acceptance on a bi-monthly basis.

Spring Opener 200 Shoot

HOA Winner Kevin Cole

Our 2017 Spring Opener, scheduled for March 11 was a real challenge this year with temperatures dropping to minus 23!! That's just too chilly for even the most committed participant. The shoot was rescheduled for a week later on March 18th when the weather warmed to a pleasant +15 degrees. Oh, what a difference a week makes! We had a great turn out of competitors and a good time was had by all.

High Overall Winner
was Kevin Cole with a score of 176 out of 200.

Great Shooting Kevin !

Thanks to everyone who participated.

Feature Article - Expectations for your Sporting Clay Lesson

by Luther Cutts

The demand for instructors in the shotgun sports is constantly increasing.  It would appear that more and more people are recognizing the benefits of learning in a structured environment, and thereby advancing their shotgun skill sets faster and more efficiently.

Silver Willow is committed to the client getting the best value for their instructional dollar, and they ask several questions during the booking process to ensure the client is placed with the most suitable Instructor.  This is best determined by the client understanding what their expectations are - that is to say that the novice shooter who has done very little or no shooting will have different expectations when compared to the shooter who has been hunting birds for the past 30 years and now wants to learn a bit about shooting clay targets.

The Day and Co. Feature of the Month

April is CLEAN YOUR GUN MONTH
All Cleaning Supplies are 15% OFF

4 Reasons Why Cleaning and Maintaining Your Shotgun Is Important!

1.) Longevity - Simple maintenance and cleaning can make sure
your gun will last for generations.

2.) Cleaning and maintaining your gun will help you learn about
how the gun works. You'll learn how the parts interact with
        each other.

3.) Learn to Lubricate Your Gun. More lubrication is not always a
good thing when you're maintaining your gun. When the
moving parts of your gun have too much lubrication there will
be some issues such as excess dirt build up.

4.) Safety and Reliability - After you've used your shotgun , you should always clean        it so it's ready to function perfectly the next time.

Steps to Cleaning;

A. Make sure the firearm is unloaded; disassemble to clean the different parts of the gun.
B. Clean the inside of the barrel with a bore snake or cleaning rod and gun solvent, Crud Buster works really well.
C. Wipe the outside of the barrel with a light oil, we recommend G96.
D. Lube or grease. G96 Gun Treatment works well for areas where that is required
( this will depend on the type of shotgun you are cleaning )
E. Use a light oil on the barrel and receiver which will help prevent rusting, with the G96 Gun treatment
