" My buds and I took the Backcountry Ski Tour and loved it. We're all intermediate - advanced on-mountain "ski area" skiers and one had his own gear. From getting set-up in the store, to our orientation putting on the equipment, the first-time experience was great. Michael with Umiak took care of us from when we walked in the door, and our Guide, Mia, was awesome! She took us to Stowe's Sterling Forest trails, that skirt a section of the Catamount Trail - with a few inches of fresh powder on top of frozen-packed snow...we learned the basics and safety came first. Skinned up to an overlook of the resort, where Mia had packed cheese and crackers, smoked beef, and hot cider - then the fun part...fresh lines through somewhat tight trees. A snowplow here and there! A+ to Umiak for a great adventure! "
