SurfaceFX, is an algorithm which highlights surface features regardless of whether they are engraved, etched, embossed, dented, punctured, stamped, or raised. Once contrast is created in the image, Cognex's industry leading vision tools (OCRMax, PatMax RedLine, Blobs, InspectEdge, etc.) can easily inspect the part.
SurfaceFX utilizes a 4-segment quadrant controlled light and a Cognex IS8000 or IS5705 Series camera. It uses reflections and shadows from the different angled lights to determine the surface structure. The Cognex algorithm combines images from different light sources to create the resulting image.

PMAT (Piab Modular Automation Tooling)offers adjustability and also rigidity with the same products. PMAT can be used to design robot end-effector tools, ergonomic tools or fixture tools for use on all types of automation equipment. The tooling consists of connecting parts for welded frames or extruded profiles and swivel arm assemblies with a choice of various "function" attachments.
Some function attachments include an ejector that is based on the latest COAX® technology. The ejector unit provides vacuum and also a release function. The ejector can also be equipped with a vacuum check valve and an energy saving unit called Vacustat.

Allowable dynamic moment for the wide slider type is 14 times higher than the standard slider. Allowable torque on the rod type of the wide radial cylinder is 3 times higher than the standard radial cylinder.
