MAA is thrilled to share that we have been accredited to facilitate adoptions in Ecuador!

Ecuador is a beautiful country in South America, neighboring Colombia where we have been working for the last few years. There are many waiting children, primarily older kids, including sibling groups.

Announcing the launch of a new research project from NCFA!

Profiles in Adoption is an ongoing research project intended to explore the demographic characteristics and personal experiences of adoptive parents and adopted individuals.

Calling all Adoptive Parents!

NCFA invites you to participate in a national survey of adoptive parents. This survey is Part One of the Profiles in Adoption Project and is intended for all adoptive parents*, regardless of how long ago you adopted or the type of adoption (intercountry, private domestic, and adoption from foster care). This research is intended to fill some critical gaps in adoption data that will strengthen the work of policymakers and adoption professionals and better support adoptive families.

We will make the results free and publicly available so they can be used to improve adoption education and training, to advocate for needed post-adoption resources, and to inform policymakers and other decision-makers as they craft legislation and policy changes regarding adoption.

Survey participants will have the opportunity to be entered to win one of 150 Amazon $25 gift cards.

*This project is not intended for stepparent adoption situations.
Like all of you, we have been following the desperate situation of those in Afghanistan. After times of crisis some look to help by adopting vulnerable children, but this is a problematic approach for many reasons. Grateful to our partners at Creating a Family for their article on why looking to adopt children from Afghanistan is not a helpful response at this time, and can actually be harmful.

For those looking to help vulnerable children in this crisis, here is a list of organizations by state you can partner with to help Afghan individuals and families resettling in the US.
Families home in August!
If you are not in a position to adopt right now, but still feel compelled to help, please know that you can always make a donation directly to Madison Adoption Associates. Your generous gift will be directed where it is needed most, whether that be to provide food and medical services to vulnerable children both domestically and internationally, to support MAA’s growing therapeutic support services for adoptive and foster families, to help ease the financial burden for adoptive families, and/or many other areas where MAA serves deserving children. So please – consider making a tax-deductible donation today, so that children around the world may have a chance for a brighter tomorrow.
