"IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery
Newsletter
JUNE 2021
"No-name" places.
Dear friends,
Welcome to my monthly "PHOTOBLOG" newsletter, which I have been publishing for several years and have enjoyed sending to friends and clients in order to keep them informed of my current photographic interests, new works, upcoming exhibits and other Gallery events.
A new "subject" is at the center of each Newsletter, with which I present a short series of pertinent images along with any needed description and details, in order to allow my viewers to become more actively part of the discussion.
Most of the imagery displayed will be eventually on view at "IMAGES" Art Gallery, 14406 Detroit Rd., Lakewood, and of course I always welcome anyone's comments and interest in my work; the Gallery remains open these days, in spite of the current unfavorable circumstances, and I would be very happy to extend to all an invitation to contact us so that a personal "safe" time for a visit could be conveniently arranged.
Any of these and other images could be custom printed/framed and become part of your art collection, based on your specifications and desires.
Over the years my recipients list has gradually grown, thanks to your interest and support, and I encourage you to share this "PHOTOBLOG" with friends and art lovers in your circles.
More of my photography on view at www.mellinophotography.com.
A sincere "thank you" for your interested attention,
Marcello Mellino.
The idea of "going away" somewhere, any WHERE, was certainly growing in our minds as the weeks and the months continued to roll on, while we were all tightly bound to our homes for the most part, as the horrific pandemic continued to spread out.
Wonderful, exciting and exotic places of the world seemed so enticing but so impossible, they became only the contents of our dreams, may be...and this made me realize that there is so much out there without a glorious, sexy appeal yet well worth experiencing and ultimately appreciating: "no-name"
places which often remain way back in our memory, and suddenly come back to remind us of simple, anonymous happy moments...
It may not be that necessary to describe in great details these images: they are "instants" of my memories, here and there...the "Hand" by the MOMA in Cleveland, simply astonishing in its realism; a Mc Donald's in the middle of nowhere, with frightened cows roaming in front of it; a lonely, cold bench by a river; a simple small chapel in an Italian hamlet so full of spirituality; a beach with no swimmers and the remnants of an old pier.
Decapitated roman statues, by a century old Italian castle and an abandoned steel plant, in sharp contrast to some decidedly modern structures make for an interesting visual "trip" somewhere out there...
A solitary path to a southern beach, above, brings back to mind long, quiet strolls by the water.
Below, a flock of geese did learn how to "walk on water" a few winters ago!
Images of quiet moments indoors, as a very foggy Spring morning begins.
The B&W series of images presented to you this month have appealed to me for various reasons: a particular time or place dear to me, a simple moment worth remembering, an unusual emotion back in time, may be...I hope you will "feel" some of this as well!

"IMAGES" Art Gallery is open and awaits you:

The "magic" of CLE-land! is currently hanging on its walls, with many very interesting images portraying an appealing "look" of our City...don't miss it!
An OPEN HOUSE is coming up on Friday, June 11th (3 to 7pm) and Saturday, June 12th (11 to 5pm): please come in for a friendly visit not only on those days, however, as we will be happy to arrange for a personal visit at any other time, when requested by you.

We hope to see you again at the Gallery!
Best, Marcello.
