Home2 Suites is home to many

Located on 116th Street NE and off the I-5 corridor, Home2 Suites by Hilton is Marysville’s newest hotel. Opened in September 2022, the all-inclusive hotel features 90 guest rooms with eight different configurartions that cater to all different types of stays.

“I work for various hotels here in the Snohomish County, and Home2 Suites is a brand that is not in this market,” says Rachel Ralson, Regional Director of Sales and Marketing. “It's specific towards long-term stays, which was a product that this city really needed.”

As a Marysville resident since 2012, Ralson remembered when the property was vacant.

“When months and months went by and the property wasn't opening, it was disheartening. It's never good to see any business that's vacant in the community that you live in,” Ralson said. “So when it was announced that the property was being purchased and there were plans to open, it filled that void and I was super excited.”

Since its opening, Home2 Suites has been home for regulars and extended-stay guests who stay there three to four days a week. Guests range from traveling nurses to local businesses, leisure groups, families, traveling sports teams, and local residents who stay at the hotel during renovation work on their homes.

General Manager Mary Moreno attributes the frequency of their guests’ stays to customer service.

“This brand has a great product and we hold everything up to the highest standards,” say Moreno. “We want our staff to be the face of the hotel, and our guests love them.”

Because most of the staff are Marysville residents, they are able to connect more with traveling guests by providing personal and relevant recommendations and directions.

“The staff is fully aware of what's going on in the market, which helps them connect with the guests more so than usual,” says Moreno. “They know where all of the great food spots and local happenings are that people who are traveling wouldn’t necessarily know about.”

While Moreno is new to Marysville and has been discovering her favorite spots to explore, Ralson is new to Hilton and has expressed amazement towards the brand loyalty.

“We have guests who go out of their way to ensure that they’re staying at a Hilton Home2 Suites,” says Ralson. “I've never experienced that with any of the other brands I've worked at; they've always had brand loyalty, but this is kind of to an extreme, so it's wonderful.”

Welcome: Real Property Management

On March 1, Mayor Jon Nehring and Councilmember Mark James joined the Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce in celebrating the opening of Real Property Management at 1325 State Ave.

On March 17, Mayor Jon Nehring helped celebrate the second anniversary of Jay's Flooring LLC with The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce. The shop is located at 3923 88th St. N.E., Unit C.

Marysville Then & Now

When Mayor Gerald Dudley was elected Mayor in 1952, he pledged to modernize many aspects of city services. One of those modernizations was Marysville’s first two annexations that ran concurrently. The hashed areas on this map show the two annexations, one east of State and north of Grove, and the other west of State between Grove and Westover (now 80th Street). These two annexations brought in an estimated 200 residents and considerable sales tax revenue with the B&M Shopping Center (present day Safeway Shopping Center). The boundaries of the city remained unchanged between Marysville’s founding in 1891 and 1952.

The Central Marysville Annexation in 2009 was the city's last significant annexation, bringing 20,000 former county residents into the city. Since then, virtually all of the city’s Urban Growth Area (the area where we the city is allowed by law to expand) is within city limits.

Money Smart for Small Business

Coastal Community Bank is offering complimentary Money Smart for Small Business courses to support local businesses. Free classes are held at the Coastal Community Bank office (5415 Evergreen Way, Everett) on the third Wednesday of each month from 8 to 9:30 a.m., February through October. Space is limited to 40 attendees per class.
