GiraMondo Wine is honored to be featured in the July issue of Washingtonian Magazine's Best of Washington section for our series on Embassy Tastings. 

Our next embassy event will probably be a boutique wineries of Chile class and tasting.

In the meantime, we just added a Cult Winemaker's tasting and dinner on July 19 at Petits Plats (see below)

Last Week Wine Contest  - Prize was a box of Cookies and Cork red wine cookies. 
The winner of the Wine Bible is Cindy Garamond of Annapolis, MD. Se was one of 70 contestants who provided a correct answer to our contest. Cindy , please contact us to arrange for delivery.

July 19: Icon Wines and Cult Winemakers

Come discover some of the best icon wines from cult wine makers. We will serve wines from Helen Turley, Paul Hobbs, Kosta Brown and the like.  

In this new format, dinner is included (one cheese plate per person + grass-fed beef steak and french fries).

July 21: Spanish Wine Class, Dinner and Tasting

Please come and join us for a special evening dedicated to Spain. The Spanish Wine Class, Tasting and dinner will take place on July 21, 2011 at Divino Lounge in Bethesda.



At 7:00pm, Laurent Guinand - the president of GiraMondo Wine - will make a presentation on the wines of Spain. Laurent draws on his long experience as a wine educator as well as personal interest for Spanish wines


Following the class is a 5-course dinner with wine tasting. Menu is the following:


  • Plate of tapas
  • Baby octopus with olive oil and paprika
  • Seafood Paella
  • Baked Suckling Pig in Sherry Sauce
  • Flan


These dishes will be paired with 6 different Spanish wines from Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Rueda and other wine regions of Spain



This event is limited to 40 participants.
