NEW! Saturday Piano Lessons

Our NEW private piano teacher, Alissa Araneta, is now offering additional sessions Saturday mornings at the Streams Recreation Center beginning October 7. 

Lessons are for students of all ages and are conducted in a fun setting for teachers and students. Students from children to adults are taught proper piano technique. This is an excellent option for those who are beginning on the instrument, or are advanced and want to learn more, or established players seeking a fresh approach. Teaching materials are included. 

NEW! Parent Tot Tumbling

Parent Tot Tumbling is 30 minutes of semi-instruction teaching your little one how to do forward rolls, log rolls and balance beam. Children ages 2-3 learn something new each week. Class runs 9 to 9:30 a.m., Saturdays, October 21 through November 18 at the Streams Recreation Center.

Toddler Open Gym

Children ages 1 to 4 may enjoy use of the gym from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Thursday at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center. The gym will be full of balls, mats, small basketball hoops, soccer goals and more. Parental supervision is required. Cost is $5/$10 for residents/non-residents. Parents are admitted free.

Adult Basketball League

Keep your competitive edge and stay in great shape in the men's fall basketball league, running Sundays, October 15 through December 10 at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center. Teams are guaranteed eight games and must provide their own T-shirts/uniforms with numbers. Prize money is awarded to the first- and second-place finishers of the regular season. A trophy is awarded to the playoff champion. Registration deadline is October 6.

Frankenstein's Kiddie Carnival

Ghosts and goblins are wanted for a night a fun! Children ages 2-10 put on their best Halloween costume and join us for carnival games, crafts, an inflatable, and a spooky fun time 6 to 8 p.m., October 13 at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center. Cost is $15/$19 resident/non-resident and includes 12 tickets, crafts and popcorn. Additional tickets are available on site for purchase. Pre-registration is required.

Youth Basketball Leagues

Registration is OPEN for the Park District's youth basketball leagues for boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grade. Volunteer coaches introduce participants to the fundamentals of playing basketball through weekly practices and weekend games. The league emphasizes proper techniques, knowledge of the rules, team strategy, participation and fun. Enrollment is limited, so register early. Early bird rate ends October 15.

Haunted Hayrides

Bone-chilling thrills abound on these spooky fun-filled hayrides on the trail at Eaton Preserve 5 to 9 p.m., October 20-21. Non-scary rides are offered 5 to 6 p.m., each night, and cost $10. Scary rides are 6 to 9 p.m. and cost $15. Pre-registration is required. No on-site/day-of registration.

Spooky Sprint

The Spooky Sprint Fun Run is fast approaching! Enjoy a one-mile themed run around Eaton Preserve October 21. Race kicks off at 10:30 a.m. Participants receive a shirt and swag bag that includes a unique, event-themed giveaway along with some other cool items. All runners MUST be registered one month prior to the start of their run to be guaranteed their shirt size.

Scout's Summer Fun Hunt runs through October 31! Download the app, visit our parks, complete challenges, earn points and win prizes! Prize packages are now available for pick-up at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center through November 10.
