Where does the time go!? We just returned from Africa November 21, I turned around and here it is almost December 21! Do you know what is great about December 21 ... the days start getting longer. (We are always spoiled in Uganda since it straddles the Equator so every day is 12 hours -- 7 am to 7 pm -- and the temperature averages 60-80 degrees. We did have a lot of rain this time but it didn't dampen our spirits ... it was a wonderful trip and certainly put us in the mood for Christmas.
The reason I have been so lax in writing this newsletter is that I have been working to get a grant for the computer lab at school and we finally have it approved and we should be able to start right after the new year. We will be one of the fea Primary Schools in Uganda to have this and I am so excited about the opportunities in learning that this will present to the children. They will return to school the end of January -- their school year is late January to late November -- and it should be ready to go by then. This grant is from Rotary District 5960 in Minnesota but it would not have been possible without the Rotary to which I belong ... North St. Paul/Maplewood/Oakdale. They have been unbelievably helpful and supportive ... THANK YOU SO MUCH!
