Best Wishes for Passover and Easter


Pasadena Housing Providers wishes all of our readers, subscribers and contributors a happy and blessed weekend. Many of us will be spending time with our families and remembering the messages of redemption, freedom and rebirth that resonate through Easter and Passover.


It's been one hundred days since our community was impacted by the Eaton Canyon fire, so we also want to celebrate the generosity of several community groups. These include food and shelter provided by Jain, Hindu, and Sikh groups, and support for food banks by Muslim foundations. We are very grateful for you!

Stay Up To Date With Compliance


As we move further into 2025, there are some important new compliance issues for you. You must now take photographs of a unit after a tenant leaves, both before and after any cleaning or repairs. You must provide those photographs to the departing tenant. You can stay up to date on this and other new 2025 regulations thanks to our friends at the California Apartment Association.


Although we have almost all registered our rental property and paid the fee of $214.71 per unit, there are more requirements. Many of us now increase rents in February or March after we were forced to roll back two years of rent increases in January 2023. If you have changed rents or any other details of your leases since you registered, you are required to update your registry within 30 days. You can do this online, or book an appointment with the Rent Stabilization Department.





Latest on making contributions as reasonable business expenses

Contact your tax advisor to determine if you can deduct your payments as a necessary and reasonable business expense under IRC 162.
