"IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery
Newsletter
January 2023
Italian countryside...
Dear friends,
Welcome to my monthly "PHOTOBLOG" newsletter, which I have been publishing for several years and have enjoyed sending to friends and clients in order to keep them informed of my current photographic interests, new works, upcoming exhibits and other Gallery events.
A new "subject" is at the center of each Newsletter, with which I present a short series of pertinent images along with any needed description and details, in order to allow my viewers to become more actively part of the discussion.
Most of the imagery displayed will be eventually on view at "IMAGES" Art Gallery, 14406 Detroit Rd., Lakewood, and of course I always welcome anyone's comments and interest in my work.
Any of these and other images could be custom printed/framed and become part of your art collection, based on your specifications and desires.
Over the years my recipients list has gradually grown, thanks to your interest and support, and I encourage you to share this "PHOTOBLOG" with friends and art lovers in your circles.
More of my photography on view at www.mellinophotography.com.

A sincere "thank you" for your interested attention,
Marcello Mellino.
I always enjoy visiting Italy, as you might have deducted from my previous photoblogs, with a particular pleasure derived by getting out in the countryside to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding nature, the engaging atmosphere and the everlasting simplicity often found in remote locations where at times things seem to have never changed...
As a photographer, these excursions can be a "gift from heaven", thus my desire to share some of these pictoresque sceneries , hoping to elicit the same enjoyment I have derived from these moments!
Most of the places you will visit "with" me
will probably never be reached by the casual tourist, and in fact you will need to have great determination to abandon the most travelled roads and venture out, hoping to still receive some signal from your GPS...so, good luck if you'll go!
Driving around Tuscany or Umbria, and purposely leaving the autostrada to get into some of the secondary roads, is an experience well worth enjoying! The views are often breathtaking and stunning in their secular simplicity, with often expansive lands filled with vineyards, olive trees or sunflowers cultivations. Late Summer, Autumn or late Spring are certainly the best times to visit, but even some Winter days can be beautiful if you are lucky enough!
The small volcanic lake Bracciano, seen below, is one of several small lakes surrounding Rome, the perfect photographic destination away from the big city. Several medieval towns and villages are encountered as you circumnavigate the lake, all quaint and filled with wonderful trattorias and fish markets. Since the lake is one of the main hydric resource for Rome, its waters are kept clean by only allowing electric powered or sail boats, with the local fishermen supplying the many waterside restaurants with delightful, freshly caught fish daily.

"IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery is currently showing an interesting selection of antique/vintage paintings and prints from its inventory well worth seeing.
Currently on display on the walls of the Blackbird Bakery in Lakewood are many iconic vintage photographs I have collected over the years.
A large number of my Italian imagery will be on display at the Malvina Freedson Gallery located on the main floor of the Winton Place in Lakewood (12700 Lake Av.). The exhibit, titled "Savoring EATalia" is open to the public and all are welcome to stop by during January and February 2023.

As always, we enjoy visiting with prior and new clients at IMAGES Gallery; do bring us your art/photography projects to be completed for your home or work place, and we will be happy to help you realize your vision!

Happy New Year! Marcello.
