"IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery
Newsletter
May 2021
Looking back...
Dear friends,
Welcome to my monthly "PHOTOBLOG" newsletter, which I have been publishing for several years and have enjoyed sending to friends and clients in order to keep them informed of my current photographic interests, new works, upcoming exhibits and other Gallery events.
A new "subject" is at the center of each Newsletter, with which I present a short series of pertinent images along with any needed description and details, in order to allow my viewers to become more actively part of the discussion.
Most of the imagery displayed will be eventually on view at "IMAGES" Art Gallery, 14406 Detroit Rd., Lakewood, and of course I always welcome anyone's comments and interest in my work; the Gallery remains open these days, in spite of the current unfavorable circumstances, and I would be very happy to extend to all an invitation to contact us so that a personal "safe" time for a visit could be conveniently arranged.
Any of these and other images could be custom printed/framed and become part of your art collection, based on your specifications and desires.
Over the years my recipients list has gradually grown, thanks to your interest and support, and I encourage you to share this "PHOTOBLOG" with friends and art lovers in your circles.
More of my photography on view at www.mellinophotography.com.
A sincere "thank you" for your interested attention,
Marcello Mellino.
Why "LOOKING back"? As you might know, I deeply enjoy photography and my work related to this often underestimated art, so on occasion a reflective pause to assess what I have actually produced in the last couple of years is not only interesting but also personally very educational.
You should have seen most of these images already, as they all appeared in some of my prior Photoblogs; choosing which ones to present again is no easy task, as I loved them all the first time around, however some of your feedbacks and comments are certainly very helpful to me in this process.

May and June are big months in Cleveland, photographically speaking, as PHOTOTHON 2021, the second Cleveland Photo Fest opens throughout the City and surrounding communities with a multitude of free exhibits and forums. "IMAGES" Art Gallery in Lakewood is pleased to be part of the event with The "Majic" of CLEV-land! which will remain on view for the next couple of months. You are all invited to stop by and/or call ahead to reserve your visit time.
I hope you will enjoy again these images, as you did before, and, as always, a big THANK you for spreading the word out to your friends and your personal" bubble"!

Below, a stunning mid-summer sunset on Lake Erie, after a sudden storm which left behind dark clouds and an incredible palette on the horizon!
Above, several of my favorites, from elaborate sand castles on Florida beaches to elegant flamingoes and some stunning waterscapes. You should recognize the familiar Cleveland Inner Harbor, very busy this weekend with the NFL draft events, below which you see the most unusual ice cream shop, located in Bonita Springs near Naples, Fla.
A calming view of the Umbrian countryside and a classic "Venezia" are back, together with an old Tuscan farmhouse and, finally, sail boats back on the water!
The power of Nature and of lake Erie is in full display here, a reminder of past memorable storms on our shores...
A couple of other Cleveland images, both centered around the Cuyahoga River, which will soon come back to its joyful boat traffic after a long winter.
The "pizza by the slice" image, taken as we were visiting a small Italian town years ago, is always reminiscent of the human story so often behind a photograph, which we mostly are unaware of: to be able to " see " and capture the emotion is often difficult but ultimately so rewarding...

"IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery is open these days; feel free to call for a safe, personal appointment time to come in and look at the current works on display.
"The Majic of CLEV-land!" is on our walls together with a variety of other themes as well as with several wonderful vintage pieces for you to enjoy!
Happy Spring...Marcello.
