Sharing the love of Jesus with children around the world through Christian education

Bestest Day Ever!

October, 2025

My wife loves birthdays; for her, it's always the 'best day ever!' Fortunately for me, I am the beneficiary when it's my birthday... gifts, special meal... and, of course, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.

As God's children, we enjoy the blessings that God bestows on us - some days just feel like the best days ever... especially after we've had a run of difficult or challenging days.

Yet, there is a 'bestest' day still coming (or more grammatically correct - the very best day). When Christ returns the words from 2 Timothy 4:8 will become our reality:

Henceforth, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the

Lord, the righteous judge, will award me on that day.

That will be the 'bestest day ever!' and it's what we hope for the children whom we serve at our project sites around the world. Many of them haven't experienced many best days.... but the hope, centered in their faith in Christ, will become their everlasting reality as well.

Pray for many good days ahead in the lives of these children... But especially pray for their future "bestest day ever" ... in the presence of Jesus, forever with Him.

Sierra Leone

We continue with our efforts to assist the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sierra Leone in creating a model Lutheran school for the community and for teacher training for the region.

While the government schools are shut down due to a strike, Pastor Yasseh writes:

We are blessed to be in school today. Could you imagine, all government and government assisted schools are on sit down strike and no school they said until their subsidies for two terms are paid. Thank God, we are for Jesus and Jesus alone. We pray that the government will come in quickly for the right of the children for all the children in our country.

Our next trip to Sierra Leone will be at the end of January. Pray for the ongoing development of this Gospel-rich, quality educational program. If you would like to give a one-time gift to assist with building improvements, just go online or send in a check and mark it 'Sierra Leone model school.'
