My wife loves birthdays; for her, it's always the 'best day ever!' Fortunately for me, I am the beneficiary when it's my birthday... gifts, special meal... and, of course, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.
As God's children, we enjoy the blessings that God bestows on us - some days just feel like the best days ever... especially after we've had a run of difficult or challenging days.
Yet, there is a 'bestest' day still coming (or more grammatically correct - the very best day). When Christ returns the words from 2 Timothy 4:8 will become our reality:
Henceforth, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the
Lord, the righteous judge, will award me on that day.
That will be the 'bestest day ever!' and it's what we hope for the children whom we serve at our project sites around the world. Many of them haven't experienced many best days.... but the hope, centered in their faith in Christ, will become their everlasting reality as well.
Pray for many good days ahead in the lives of these children... But especially pray for their future "bestest day ever" ... in the presence of Jesus, forever with Him.
