Many of you will remember being in the room—whether in person or virtually—for People & Stories / Gente y Cuentos’ 2022 Notable Words event featuring bestselling author Susan Choi, who captivated listeners with a reading of her short story “Flashlight.”

That story has since evolved into the widely acclaimed novel Flashlight—now a Booker Prize short-list and National Book Award long-list honoree - and a national bestseller.

We are deeply honored that Susan Choi will return to celebrate and support People & Stories / Gente y Cuentos at our 2026 benefit fundraiser, Notable Words: An Afternoon with Susan Choi, on Saturday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m.

Watch for full event details, sponsorship opportunities, and ticket information coming in November. Mark your calendar for an afternoon where stories illuminate what connects us all!
