Helpful Links and Upcoming Highlights
As members of the Bet Torah family, you are the best ambassadors for our community. We hope you will be a part of our effort to recruit new staff partners for our community. Please help get the word out about two immediate job openings at Bet Torah:
  • Director of Community Engagement & Lifelong Learning
  • Executive Assistant to the Clergy
Congratulations Bet Torah!

USCJ recognized two Bet Torah programs for our “unique, creative and dynamic initiatives and/or programs that enhance the life of the congregation.”

Bet Torah’s  T4 Minyan: Tuesdays, Tefillah, Talmud and Ta’am , our weekly early morning minyan, received a Silver Award in the category of “Commitment & Observance.”
All members are invited to join this example of a true Kehilah Kedoshah, which offers opportunities for prayer and study not only on Shabbat and holidays but also on regular weekdays. Bet Torah has for years offered a daily weekday service, Monday through Thursday evenings, and Sunday mornings. We wanted to offer our congregants more. So we implemented a unique Tuesday morning minyan that nourishes our minds, bodies and souls. Join us most Tuesday mornings in the Chapel, 7:15 a.m.

Bet Torah’s  Boomers And Beyond  for senior members and nonmembers received a Bronze award in the category of “Hazak.”
The Boomers group was created to provide a means for active seniors to get together and have some fun. Many of the events have a Jewish theme, while others have been historic or cultural in nature. In the end, it is for friends, new and old, to get together for a fun day, where someone else takes care of all of the details and folks can just sit back and enjoy themselves. Look for information about upcoming Boomers And Beyond trips on the Bet Torah website, weekly emails and the monthly  Message .
Directed Giving Campaign: Security for Bet Torah
Thank you to the many members of our synagogue community who have expressed interest in donating funds to help enhance security at Bet Torah. In response, we have created a dedicated Security Fund -- Security For Bet Torah. Donations to this fund will be used exclusively for capital improvements to enhance security at Bet Torah and for ongoing security measures. Online donations can be made via our website  or by check, made out to Bet Torah, with "Security for Bet Torah” on the memo line. The Security Committee will make recommendations to the Board for the use of these funds.

Safekeeping Stories Workshop
The Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center (HHREC) is pleased to announce our popular Safekeeping Stories workshops at Bet Torah, beginning in early 2019. Click here for workshop dates
• Learn how to save your family’s Holocaust story using the practice of Storykeeping, a method that makes it easy to author your story.
• Sift through the sea of facts and events to discover the stories that matter most.
This program is suitable for people who are 2nd and 3rd Generation that want to connect with a warm, supportive group while learning how to preserve and share your family's Holocaust story. In the 18-week workshop led by trained professionals, you will receive valuable insights from workshop discussions and you will learn how to assemble story fragments and slices into one coherent story. Your family’s story can then be preserved for this and future generations.
